Two friends and I did the 3-day Paharpur and Puthia tour and experienced an amazing insight into the heritage, history, and local life of northwest Bangladesh. Despite us having limited time in Bangladesh, the tour was exactly as described, and we experienced a huge amount of Buddhist temples, Hindu temples, and mosques. Mohan was an excellent, professional and thorough guide who spoke English well and always saw to it that we were comfortable. Our driver was excellent and navigated the sometimes slow and dangerous traffic easily and safely. Drinking water and snacks were constantly provided.
The hotels were adequate for the area we were in, and the Bengali breakfasts were great. Mohan is passionate about his country, its culture, and its food. The restaurants he picked were delicious, local, and we did not get sick once. His food picks ensured that we tried a good sampling of various Bengali dishes. Mohan will pick up on the clients’ likes and passions and enhance the tour with stops that match the clients’ interests. For example, we got to stop at a vegetable market, a street bazaar, and a paan (betel nut) farm as well as try paan at a stand when he saw we were interested in local ways of life.
We have fallen in love with Bangladesh, in part due to the wonderful tour provided by Mohan and our wonderful driver.
